GAUK Motors Property

Hello Bike Enthusiasts,
New Zealand Classic Motorcycles continues to hold very popular evening presentations at our Haven Road facility. This time it is really something special
With great pride and pleasure we announce an evening with two of our country’s greatest riders, ANDREW STROUD and AARON SLIGHT, of World Superbike, Grand Prix and World Bears Championship fame.

We have been fortunate to catch them both in New Zealand for this occasion and we welcome motorcycle club members and the public to come along and meet them at NZ Classic Motorcycles, 75 Haven Road, for a “Chat Evening” and a question time opportunity. Of course Andrew will speak on his adventures with the Britten Team as their star rider and his time with Superbikes, Bears and Grand Prix teams, while Aaron will speak of his associations with the World Championship Kawasaki and Honda HRC factory teams during those exciting time in the 90s when New Zealand riders were right at the top of their games.

Our Britten from the collection will be off to the USA to the ‘Barber Festival of Britten Week’ event in Alabama, where every Britten ever made will assemble for a week of demonstrations and exhibits, and Andrew will be flying over to ride it.

As an added bonus, we have assembled from private collections here in New Zealand, examples of the Superbikes they both rode during their illustrious careers. Superbikes were based on road going ‘homologated’ machines, some purpose built for Superbike competition, which have during the passage of time become extremely collectable because of their low production numbers.

Both Aaron and Andrew will tell us what they were like to ride on the world stage and their memories and humorous moments on and off the track.

Superbikes, Super riders! This all adds up to an exciting evening for any motorcycle enthusiast who remembers those days when we saw these stars on our race tracks here in NZ or on TV from other countries.

Due to fire regulations we are rather limited regarding numbers attending, so your response to this invitation is to “RSVP”…..”ASAP”.
This can be done by email or by phoning us at the collection with your name and the numbers attending (please see below for details). Our normal standard entry door charge of $20 will apply – there is no extra cost for the evening – and as usual we will offer a warm cuppa tea and some dunking biscuits along with hot savouries which have proved to be so popular in the past. There will be no door sales on the night as it only spoils it for those who have booked and have seating arrangements secured.

The format will be….doors will open at 5.30pm for those visitors who have not been here before to look around the collection. At 6.00pm we offer a cuppa and some hot savouries for those who have skipped their normal evening meal, and the presentation will begin at 6.30pm. There will be a break after an hour at 7.30pm for more tea/coffee and some dunking biscuits to keep you warm and think of some questions for later on.

Hopefully we will be finished by 8.30pm but we all know that motorcyclists will want to say a few words to our guests and grab an autograph or two. Merchandise will also be on sale.

You can reply by email to or by telephone (03) 546 7699 / 021 02388450.
We look forward to you visiting our collection and having a night’s fun and entertainment among those people who belong to that close group of people who share their love of two wheels.
Yours in Motorcycling
